President's Message

If we ever wanted to be inspired about why we do what we do through Rotary our guest speakers last Tuesday reminded us of what a difference we make in people's lives.

Our speakers were Kathleen Murray and Maja Ranzinger who attended the Science and Technology Forum this year.

Their enthusiasm and excitement was infectious. Instead of being outsiders at school because of their interest in science they were with a large group of like-minded students eager to discover options for their future. It was an enjoyable presentation providing an insight into an experience that may well shape their futures careers.

Their proud parents Joe and Romma Ranzinger and Steven Murray joined us for the evening and we were delighted to host Ann Nicholls for the evening.

The club has a busy few weeks leading up to Changeover on 3rd July. Keep an eye on our upcoming events in our newsletter and on our website every week to keep up with any changes.

Please support Marie's fundraiser next Friday 1st and join us for some fun and don't forget our annual tree planting at Mangemangeroa on 16th June.

Howick Coastguard Visit

This coming Tuesday 29^th is our visit to the Howick Coastguard so if you turn up to our normal venue not only will you miss out on our scintillating company and incur a fine from the sergeant in the process but you will not be able to enjoy a special occasion with one the organisations we work hard to support.

If you want a ride on the boat be at the Coastguard Clubrooms on Howick Beach at 6pm. I suggest you have a warm jacket given the recent change in our weather! The BBQ dinner will start about 7pm and there will be a cash bar. It is always an enjoyable occasion.

Rotary National Science and Technology Forum

Guest Speakers - Kathleen Murray and Maja Ranzinger

This week we were treated to two guest speakers, Kathleen Murray and Maja Ranzinger. The two young ladies, who are Year 13 students at Howick College, were chosen to attend the annual Rotary National Science and Technology Forum. This was held at Auckland University from the 13th to the 27th of January this year.
