 President's Message

Gavin

Good Evening Members, Friends of Rotary, Past Members, Wives and Partners that read the Keyway.

Tuesday night was another night to remember as we handed a cheque over to Coast Guard for $6000.00 and with an acknowledgement of another $3000.00 coming from the June Gray Charitable Trust Trust administered by the Newmarket Rotary Club. The funds were raised through the Rotary Fun Run and Walk event held in March every year. Well done to the Committee and volunteers for running this event, and the sponsors that put up the prizes each year.

I would like to thank Mike Abercrombie for presenting the Annual Report and John Richardson on the finances of the Rotary Club of Howick Inc. and David Fels for being the Chair of the Rotary Club of Howick Community Trust. David has been the Chair of the Trust for some years and this year is stepping down from that role. Thank you for all your time and effort over the changes from two trusts to one (Thankyou).
At this time, I would like to thank those who have put their hands up to be on the Trust again.

To John Richardson, Rob Mouncey and John Sanders thank you for bringing Maree Pauling into the fold to help with accounts, and for the time you gentlemen have put into making the accounts for each project more understanding and stand alone on each project.

Last but not least Madeleine East well done, this is the first time in many years that I have seen the President Elect stand up and have the full board announced. I wish you a great 2021 / 22 year as our President.

I have spoken to Alan Peterson; he is in great spirits and if anyone of you would like to ring him his mobile No: 021 086 19643.

Christmas Puddings are available by emailing or phoning myself. Those who put your order in at our last meeting should have received them. You will be billed through the club accounts $20.00/ pudding. This is a fund raiser and the club receives $5.00/ pudding.

I look forward to catching up with you all on the 8th December 2020 for our final function for the year. David Teape tells me that it is going to be a great night to see the Rotary year out.
MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR. Good bye 2020

Those who are traveling please stay safe and enjoy your company.
