Hello fellow Rotarians
Our meeting last Tuesday, my first as president, was for me formally a bit nervy but latterly most enjoyable.
We had three visitors, Simeon Brown MP for Pakuranga, Alison’s guest John Simpson and Meryl Monk. My apologies Alison for not greeting and introducing your guest, put it down to first night nerves, it won’t happen again.
My thanks to John Savory and those that helped him for the much improved sound system.
The room layout was better but will again be adjusted/improved at our next meeting on the 23rd of this month. The signing in system went a bit smoother this time and thank you to who helped there.
All of theses ongoing improvements and changes enhances our new venue.
What a lovely letter from Alan Peterson thanking the club for his PHF which was well deserved.
We had a very interesting talk from Simeon Brown re his first two years in parliament and his views on our local politics and to balance the scales we probably should have a speaker from one of the other parties.
Well I enjoyed my first foray into the presidency of the Club, and I hope you all did too.
