Once again it was my pleasure to welcome you all along to our dinner meeting on the 11th of June.
Attendance was down again, due to members on holiday and maybe because it was a Club Assembly meeting. In the future there is some thought that these meetings need some form of incentive to entice member’s attendance?
A Club Assembly meeting takes the form of all committee directors presenting and talking through what their committees have achieved during the current year and what may yet have to be completed. Each director’s report will be tabled at the AGM and will then be available to all club members through the club's Annual Report.
I wish to thank the Directors and their committees for a job well done during my year as president.
Rotary Business then took place.
Steve Lines was back from his holiday and as sergeant proceeded to fine members for a range of misdemeanours, making a point of it being his last time as sergeant. Steve thanked all present for putting up with his fining sessions, and that he will possibly be targeted by the incoming sergeant.
Congratulations to the raffle winners.

Saturday June the 15th was the Mangemangeroa Tree planting and the Rotary BBQ on completion of the tree planting.
This was once again a very successful morning, helped by the rain hanging off.
I welcomed all the participants to the event and then we had a tribute to Jim Duckworth followed by a 1 minute’s silence in his honour.
Judy Duckworth and two family members Jamie and Rachael also attended and participated in the tree planting.
