Good Evening Members, Friends of Rotary, Past Members, Wives and Partners that read the Keyway.
Our lives and years seem to be traveling fast - where has the last 6 months gone?
My year as your President is also going fast with only two more meeting before Changeover which will be held at the Howick Club on the 22nd June 2021. The theme for the evening is RED. WHITE and BLUE. It will be a great night and Madeleine East will be accepting the “chain of office” as your new President for 2021/22. See you all there.
We started our Rotary night with welcomes to our wives, partners and prospective member Tony France who is transferring from Rotary in Darwin. I look forward to seeing Tony at our next meeting when he will be introduced to the club formally.
Following dinner members transferred to the Howick Club’s functions room where we joined the Wine Sector for a wine tasting with Haha Wines. One of the benefits of our venue is being able to join in on these types of events. I believe everyone had a good night.
Thank to Malcolm Pasco and his team for another great project - Blankets for Kids. Mike Stangham thank you also for organizing applicants for RYLA this year. A hard job when applicants are over subscribed and District had to limit entries. They will get an opportunity to apply in future years.
Blood bank this coming. Thankyou Garry Donoghue for stepping up to the plate while Helen is away.
The last BOARD MEETING is a joint one and there is a DATE Change to MONDAY the 17th May at 1700hrs at the Howick Club. I am trying to get the room were we have our meals as the Board Room is being used. I look forward to seeing Old and New Board Members at the meeting.
Please all stay safe and well.
Your Presidents Pen
2020/21
