Greetings to you all
Well, in my opinion Tuesday was another successful and busy meeting.
We had quite a few visitors:
Our District Governor and his wife Jan. Our Assistant Governor Graham. Farida and Philley from the Somerville Rotary Club. Tibor Mackor who Dave Wylie brought along. Tibor is a Rotarian and is thinking about joining our club. And last but not least Michael Treadwell a visiting Rotarian from Philadelphia.
District Governor Gary Langford
We had a few one minute speakers but it was great to hear from Colin Monk when he told us that we grossed about $36000.00 from the Bookarama sales and will, hopefully, after expenses net about $28000.00.
This is just fabulous news and once again a very big thank you to the organisers and the helpers in that event.
We had a very interesting and informative talk from our District Govenor Gary on Rotary 9020 and Rotary other, it made me realise what a huge job and commitment being the District Governor is.
Our sergeant Madeleine was in great form (or should I say fine) and topped up the fine coffers admirably.
I will be out of action for a while as I am having my right shoulder joint replaced next Wednesday (all say Ahhhh) but I am sure that my chauffeur, ooops, wife will get me to our meetings when I am on the mend.
So Thank you all for your attendance and support, I can assure you that it is very much appreciated.
Warm regards and see you all soon
