What a great way to end the year. Good food, good music and lots of luverly looking people.
A big thank you to Geoff and his team for organising such a great night. And thank you to the floral mafia, Jackie and Jeannette, for the lovely table decorations and Christmas crackers.
Congratulations to Heather, John and Colin on receiving their much deserved Sapphire pins. And what a nice touch from Barry Nicholls giving all three of them plus John Osborne an album full of photographs of this years Bookarama, what a great reminder of all of the hard work that they put into it.
The Santa Parade BBQ went very well, we made a small profit (yippee) and a big thank you to all of you that set it all up and took it down and to all those who helped during the day.
Well that’s all from me. If we do not see you before Christmas Pat and I wish:
A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND TO ALL YOUR FAMILIES AND WE HOPE YOU HAVE A SAFE & ENJOYABLE TIME OVER THE HOLIDAY PERIOD.
Since its incorporation the Thomas Brydon Trust has been fortunate to have had long-term Trustees whose experience and passion has approached that of its founder.
Whilst it comes after the current RCOH 2018 - 2019 financial year we wish to acknowledge more recent resignation of past Rotarian and our longest current Trustee, Warren Dance.
I am a Coastguard Skipper with Howick Coastguard and our big fundraiser for the year is the Summer Lottery. The tickets are $10 each or $50 for a book of 5 tickets. The prizes are on this brochure……Car, Boats and lots of other prizes……. I would appreciate if you would take the time to look at the brochure and consider purchasing a ticket or two or even a book. I can arrange ticket delivery and we can sort out the payment. Have a great week………
Here is a letter from District Governor Gary Langford regarding the urgent need of monetary assistance towards the Rotary response to the measles outbreak in Samoa. It is indeed tragic so see so many people, mainly children dying from this terrible outbreak.
DG Gary would like to thank all those Clubs and individuals who have responded so far with donations towards this appalling situation. Your donation is very much appreciated.
Below the message from DG Gary is also an update on the Rotary response so far from Executive Director Stuart Batty of RNZWCS. Please share these communications with your Club members.
Rotarians, if decluttering, don't forget the garage sale. It's your chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping around the house. Bring your partner.

"Grandma was spending a few days with the family, and on the fourth morning when everyone was seated around the breakfast table little Johnny said, "When are you going to do your trick, Dad?"
"What trick is that, son?"
"You know. You said if Grandma stayed more than three days you would climb the wall".

Murphy the horse trader sold a nag to a bloke and it dropped dead on the way home. The bloke went back to complain.
"That's funny," said Murphy, "I've had that nag for years and it's never done that before."
