Mangemangeroa Fire

Mangemangeroa Reserve fire.

Thanks to watchful neighbours and prompt Fire Service response this damage is limited. The fire was in an area Howick & Somerville Rotarians helped to plant in 2016.

It was halted at the bottom fence below Archies Lookout, before getting into into the thicker restored bush beyond, while having already spread Nth - South quite widely.

It was burning in dried thatch in dried kikuyu thatch and through the flax and manuka.

Cause of fire unknown - but it was the day before Guy Fawkes!

Allan Riley,

Chairman, Friends of Mangemangeroa

MEMBERSHIP
Membership is at the heart of any successful club and hopefully we all look forward to meeting up with friends each fortnight. The social side is important and hence the informal nights we have as well as social meetings arranged within committees all help keep members and partners involved.
