On the 9 November last year several members of our club supported the Diwali Celebration Party organised by the Rotary club of Somerville.
The event was held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Our Lady Star of the Sea School, hosted by their President Farida Master. Several local politicians were present including the National Party candidate for Botany Christopher Luxton and his wife.
The programme was packed with foot tapping entertainment, raffles, an auction and authentic Indian cuisine.
All proceeds of the evening were donated to local and international projects of Rotary. Among the projects was ‘Beyond Water,’ a charitable organisation run by Rotarians passionate about bringing clean water and sanitation solutions to communities in East Africa.
Members and partners attending included Geoff and Barbara Thompson, Rob Mouncey, Fred and Celeste Holland, Allan and Bev Riley, David Fels and Anita D’Souza with a very good time had by all.
