As part of Howick rotary clubs commitment to “Pest Free Howick and Pakuranga” this special event has been arranged for all of the local clubs and interested persons to attend. The guest speaker is the CEO appointed by the previous government to head the pest eradication project announced by John Key. It will be of interest to many in the community so feel free to invite non members who will need to pay for themselves.

Predator Free 2050
Predator Free 2050 Ltd was formed in Nov 2016 by the New Zealand Government via the Department of Conservation to realise New Zealand’s Predator Free 2050 goal.
The company invests around $5 million per year in large landscape projects and scientific research, and leverages new funding to rid New Zealand of the possums, rats and stoats which threaten its unique fauna and flora.
Predator Free 2050 Ltd’s work is overseen by a Board of leading New Zealanders with governance, science, iwi, conservation, business, rural management and philanthropic backgrounds.
