It is clearly evident our membership has been shrinking faster than it has grown over recent years.

If we do not address this situation we will not have a club in a few year’s time. The Membership Committee was ‘revived’ this year is an effort to address this situation.

Membership is a whole club responsibility. It is not the responsibility of one committee. The committee will be developing a set of protocols in an effort to provide more direction as how to best attract new members, and bring them into our club.

We will be seeking feedback to ensure all have input into any perceived changes currently seen as barriers to bringing new members on board. We are keen also to see a far greater diversity within our club, including gender, ethnicity and age.

We will be working to promote membership on a monthly basis and to measure our progress as the year progresses.

We have a huge challenge ahead but with the support and commitment of every club member we can reinvigorate The Rotary Club of Howick, increase overall membership, and continue to provide support to local community and international projects.

“Don't ask what your club can do for you, ask what you can do for your club.”
